As Runa grew up, she developed her skills as a wool spinner and became increasingly prosperous, running a secret wool trade to smuggle wool out of Scotland, past the English, and on to the cities of Europe. But her life changed forever when she met Lord Keirnan Hannay at the midsummer festival. They fell deeply in love, but as a commoner, Runa couldn't marry him. Because of her donations to the Scottish army's war against the English, the king makes Runa a Baroness. She is now free to marry her true love Keirnan. But their happiness was short-lived when the Leanan Sidhe revealed to Runa that her father was a selkie, making her part fae.
