Zusammenfassung

In "Legacy of Honor: The Descendants," the McCormick family saga continues, plunging readers into the heart of 20th-century warfare. This gripping historical military fiction, written in three parts, follows Sean McCormick's three sons-Alan, Lee, and Scott-as they confront the harsh realities of war and sacrifice. In Part 1, Alan, the eldest, leads an Infantry Company with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Amid brutal jungle battles, he faces the relentless toll of command. Part 2 follows Lee, a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, as he navigates daring missions and personal struggles, eventually participating in the First Gulf War. In Part 3, Scott, the youngest, is drafted into the Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in South Korea, and later recruited by the CIA, where he undertakes covert missions across the Middle East. From the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts of the Middle East, The Descendants-the powerful conclusion to The Legacy of Honor trilogy-explores the courage, brotherhood, and sacrifices of the McCormick brothers. Their intertwined journeys reveal the true cost of duty, family, and legacy. Prepare to be captivated, heartbroken, and inspired. The McCormicks' story is not just about war. It's about survival. It's about family. It's about legacy.

Larry Freeland, born in Canton, Ohio, comes from a family with a strong military tradition. His father was an Army Air Corps/US Air Force officer whose career spanned from World War II to the early Vietnam War. His grandfather served in World War I, and his brothers are veterans of post-Vietnam conflicts. After graduating high school at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, Larry earned a degree from the University of South Florida in 1968. He then joined the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division as an infantry officer and CH-47 helicopter pilot. After leaving active duty in 1973, Larry pursued a career in banking, retiring in 2001 before working as a financial consultant and later as an instructor in management and leadership at Lanier Technical College. Now retired, Larry writes full time and lives in North Georgia with his wife, Linda, a retired teacher. Together, they enjoy traveling, cruising, and visiting historic sites. They are passionate about Le Mans racing, veterans' causes, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.Learn more about Larry at LarryFreeland.com and follow him on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
