A series of crimes takes people by surprise in the southern coal fields of West Virginia where women struggle to provide for their babies and coalminers become suspects in a murder. Higgins Hotel rents out office space to a real estate company where Realtor Cindy works. While Jack Higgins' wife is snow-birding in Florida things get wild. Realtor Cindy discovers that Jack and her boyfriend, Chuck, have been charged with racketeering. Hotel housekeeping maid Blossom has a fling with Jack and gets promoted to Hotel Manager. Mrs. Higgins returns, and she fires Blossom. The FBI agents have questions, and the coal miners throw rocks at them. Another real estate agent has jury duty, and Cindy schedules an appointment with an psychiatrist. Its a journey back into the not so distant past and sounds like an episode of Twilight
