During this time, he collects as much information as possible, on the emerging Aviation Industry, while carrying out kite flying experiments on his father's farm. He travelled to the U.K. and Joined the AVRO Airplane Company and became an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and a Pilot. During WW1 he served as a Ferry Pilot in Europe and in the Desert campaign. After the War, Jimmy married, had a family and successfully joined the newly established Aviation Industry in Australia.
