The author in this book tries to give the reader more depth into the Viet Nam War. Not only does he cover his 3 tours in Viet Nam both as a "Grunt and a REMF"; but he covers the M-16 rifles fiasco, Agent Oranges-effects, PTSD, the 1000 Yard Stare, Civic Actions in Vietnam, medals and what they stand for, how the press misrepresented facts, and the false testimony by John Kerry to Congress which helped to stigmatize Veterans and their shameful treatment on their return to the states.
